The Red Power Squad is a performing group from Edmonton Alberta Canada.  Formed in early 1998 by founder Conway Kootenay, the RPS was designed to give innercity youth a way out of all the negativity that they faced on a daily basis. 
 
Almost 10 years later the RPS has exploded into a world wide success.  With top notch Traditional Native Dance combined with Emcee, b boys/b girl skills that are second to none, the RPS will leave you with a high octane performance that is hard to forget.
 
Some of the notable accomplishments the RPS have are: performing at the 2000 and 2003 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, 2002, 2006, 2008 Opening Ceramonies of the North American Indigenous Games, a recently  national televised performance at the 2007 National Aboriginal Achievment Awards, performing at the 2008 Mayors Night of the arts, Cover story in 2008 spring issue of Say Magazine, 2008 ISMA Nomination for Best Hip Hop CD, 2008 CAMA Nomination for Best Group or Duo, and 2008 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award Winner For Best Hip Hop CD.
 
The RPS has hundreds of performances on a global scale from South Korea to San Diego, along with 5 full length albums and the recent release of there fourth music video for the new Conway K single "whats really rez" which you can find on Much Music's Rap City.
 
The RPS is currently working on a show  DVD that will have footage from performances dating back to 1996 till now, and is putting the finishing touches on the Conway K solo album titled "Balance"
